About Me:
I am from Calvert County, Maryland. Growing up only a few steps away from the Chesapeake Bay the hardships that the Bay faces had been demonstrated to me since I was a young child. Even though I carried the knowledge about the Bay, I still fell in love with its wonders. The water, the wildlife, and the people had drawn me to grow up in a world where change is possible. Either through direct action such as planting submerged aquatic vegetation, or more passively by telling others that the Bay is worth saving. I have grown up in an area that believes in the saving the environment so that others can prosper. Therefore, it has always been my goal to pursue an education where I can make a difference in the lives of others, as well as help secure a place for generations to grow and prosper. Through an education at Auburn University, such a goal can be reached with a degree in Biosystems Engineering. Biosystems Engineering is an interdisciplinary degree that involves aspects of engineering, chemistry, and biology. Giving a student, such as myself, a well rounded education into implementing key concepts into real world applications. The background given to me through this education can be easily seen on other tabs of this webpage. Career goals include responsibly utilizing our natural resources in ways that promote a sustainable infrastructure for the generations to come. Ensuring that our nation has clean water, air, and food for these generations will help our nation continue to lead the world toward a sustainable future. In working to utilize our natural resources, I hope to one day work in promoting and developing renewable energies that are affordable and easily distributed. |
